Cooking Days!

So, I need to have a schedule that I can plan my menu's around. I've decided to shop for two weeks at a time, because that way I can justify making the trip into Dubuque, instead of Galena, which is only 25 minutes away. Tuesdays are the worst days to cook, because I go to school at 10:00 am, but don't get back until 9:45 that night, so I've decided it's going to be my crock pot days; that way, Hubs can serve himself something warm, and I'll have something that I won't have to microwave when I get home. Otherwise, Mondays are going to be leftover days, and Wednesdays are his days to cook. I should get a break too!

Sunday- Family Dinner
My mom wants to do family dinners, and we will probably be going to at least one of those a month. I can't wait to cook something for more than just us two! Otherwise, I'll do something more elaborate for Hubs and me.

Monday- Leftovers
I want to take whatever we had during the weekend, and make them into something new; but it has to be basic enough that Hubs can warm it up to eat. I won't be there until after he's asleep.

Tuesday- Crock Pot
I got a Fix-It and Forget-It cookbook last Christmas, and I haven't ever used it. I'm going to look forward to using it every week!

Wednesday- Hubs Cooks Day
Hubs is going to get home around 4:30. I'll get home around 6:45. Plenty of time for him to cook.

Thursday- Shopping Day
Thursdays I'm going to be at home all day, except for shopping. On those days, I'll pick up Hubs from work after I'm done shopping. And then we'll go home and make something easy. Otherwise, it'll be something baked, so that when he gets home, the apartment smells AMAZING!

Friday- No Meat Day
I'm a Traditional Catholic, so I don't eat meat on any Fridays. Hubs isn't Catholic, but he likes fish and pizza as much as the other guy. Growing up, we had pizza 99.9% of the time. I'm going to break this pattern. This is the day that vegetarians are always going to love!

Saturday- Movie Night
Why not prepare something that can be eaten in front of a good movie or TV show? Everyone needs a night to relax, and this is going to be ours.

I'm excited to see how this experiment is going to work. I hope that everyone enjoys the recipes, pictures, and other fun tips that this is going to generate. Check the tags if you're looking for certain styles, whether a meal is vegetarian or crock pot, or main ingredients!
